Online Wellness Series for CotoLifestyle.comNicole T. Smith, L.Ac., writer for CotoLifesyle.com
Welcome to our first Online Video Wellness Series! For each video, we will have a brief transcript of the information available to you. Episode 1:
Part 2: HEALTH Bars Most health bars are really candy bars in disguise! It is important to know how to read and decipher the ingredients on a health bar so you are getting something good for you. Nicole reads the ingredients to one health bar and also the ingredients to a known junk food and they both sound very similar! Ingredients to avoid: sugar, corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, any artificial sweeteners, aspartame, acecsulfame K, sucralose, saccharin, anything hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated, any fractionated oils, protein isolates, milk products, and dyes. Its not just the calories that matter. If you have a raw, organic bar that may be 300 calories, vs. 100 calories of a bar containing the above ingredients, the 300 calorie bar is better for you because your body can use and digest it. The 100 calorie bar is just chemicals, and can translate to weight gain. If you would like more information or further detail or clarification on this subject, please e-mail Nicole at the address below. Part 3: Upcoming Topics What household products can make you fat, alternative medicine, treatment that does not involve medications and treatment of chronic diseases, to name a few.
